What Is the Purpose of Obtaining Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist Coverage?

In the state of Florida, although insurance for your automobile is mandatory, it is surprising how many people drive around in the state of Florida without proper insurance coverage. The purpose of under-insured or uninsured motorist coverage is that if you're involved in an accident that somebody else causes, and they either have insufficient or no automobile insurance, you can turn to your own policy to protect you when it comes to pursuing a claim for injuries and damages related to the accident. It's basically there to protect you, and we always advise our clients to obtain as much UM, under-insured motorist coverage, they possibly can in the event you're hit by somebody who does not have proper insurance coverage in the state of Florida.
